A Notable Marine: Orville Freeman
Orville Freeman joined the Marine Reserves in 1940. Just one year later, Pearl Harbor was attacked, and he was ordered to Quantico to report to Officer Candidate School. In November 1943, he was wounded in the battle of Bougainville. He was shot in the jaw and wounded in his left arm which never regained rull range of motion.
